Q: Who is the contact person for breed rescue?
A: Fortunately, our area has had relatively few cases
where breed rescue has been needed. However, several of our
members are available to assist in identifying and placing
rescue Berners.
Q: How do I get phone numbers or e-mail addresses?
A: For the sake of our members security and privacy, we
do not post some of their phone numbers or e-mail addresses
on the web site. If you request a membership packet (see
above), it will include a current membership roster so you
can contact members for sponsorship.
If you need phone numbers for other breed rescue
contacts, call or e-mail Dawn Letry (above) and request the
breed rescue contact phone number for your area.
The home page has a link at the bottom to send e-mail to
the club's webmaster.
Q: Do I have to own a Bernese Mountain Dog (BMD) at this
time to join the club?
A: No. Membership is open to anyone sincerely interested
in the breed, including former BMD owners and people
considering becoming BMD owners in the future.
Q: Do I have to compete with my dog in dog shows to join the
club?
A: No. Many of our members do show their dogs in
conformation, obedience, agility or draft work, but you may
join even if your dog is just a family pet. The club can be
a great source of information on health issues and other
matters pertaining to the breed - information you can use
even if you do not show your dog.
